About EFVS SMS

Safety management expertise grounded in aviation regulation, operations, infrastructure, and workforce integration.

A collaboration that connects aviation ecosystem expertise with SMS services.

EFVS collaborates with AerospaceSMS to increase awareness of aviation Safety Management Systems and help UAS, AAM, and aviation organizations identify their SMS needs. EFVS brings regulatory and emerging-aviation ecosystem expertise to those discussions and coordinates with AerospaceSMS. AerospaceSMS independently provides its platform, demonstrations, program development, implementation, training, subscriptions, and related services. EFVS may receive a referral fee when an organization connected through this collaboration purchases qualifying AerospaceSMS services.

EFVS approaches safety management as an operational ecosystem. The aircraft matters, but safe service also depends on people, procedures, airspace, command and control, infrastructure, maintenance, emergency response, cybersecurity and defined missions.

Led by David Uriel Ibarra, EFVS brings more than four decades of aviation experience and more than 32 years in FAA Flight Standards to UAS and AAM programs.

Division of expertise

  • EFVS: SMS awareness, UAS, AAM, and UTM ecosystem perspective, initial needs discussions, and coordination
  • AerospaceSMS: online SMS platform and live demonstrations
  • AerospaceSMS: program design and customized manuals
  • AerospaceSMS: gap analysis, implementation, training, subscriptions, and ongoing support
  • Collaboration: align aviation needs with the AerospaceSMS team and its independently provided services
Operating philosophy

Mission first. System wide. Evidence based.

Certification or authorization is one part of safety. EFVS helps frame these aviation considerations; AerospaceSMS determines the SMS program and service scope directly with each organization.

System

Map every interface

Identify aircraft, crew, automation, facilities, suppliers, airspace services, emergency partners and authorities.

Evidence

Operate the platform

Capture reports, manage risks, audit controls, analyze performance and document continuous improvement.
